In candle making, soya wax is a healthier and more environmental-friendly alternative to paraffin. This is a non-petroleum product that is biodegradable. Soy wax candles usually burn longer and slower than paraffin wax with no petro-carbon soot. Also, the lower melting temperature of soya wax makes it safer when using around children.
Soy wax candles tend to be softer than those made of paraffin. To harden your soya wax product, try adding in beeswax or stearic acid. Heat wax to 71.1 degrees to 82.2 degrees celsius. Add fragrance and dye, stir completely. Allow to cool slowly.
